Investigators in Shanghai have arrested a suspect in connection with the fatal poisoning of billionaire businessman Lin Zhi, 39, who died on Christmas Day. The alleged perpetrator is a 39-year-old employee of Lin’s company, identified by local media as Xu Yao. It is suspected that he poisoned his boss with a contaminated cup of pu’er (or fermented tea) on December 17, when Lin fell ill and never regained consciousness.
